Grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and settle in. My post is pretty lengthy. Here's our living room almost finished for the season.
The tree is a fresh one that we pick out every year the day after Thanksgiving and as soon as it is delivered, we get busy decorating it.
I've never exactly fallen in love with a tree skirt, but I do like this one, so it's the one we use.
These small stuffed pheasants and feather sprays give it a bit of a natural feel.
And there's several nods to departed pets.
This trio of topiaries joins a pair of vintage skaters.
On the block front chest, this old faux bois vase holds an assortment of twigs and berries.
Across the room, this armoir gets some fake poinsettias and fir trees. I'm never very much in love with fake, but there is no way I'm climbing up there to water.
For just a bit of whimsy, I added one glass ornament to the rack.
And here, a simple poinsettia graces the end table.
I tried something different this year on the mantel. It's not my favorite treatment I've ever done here, but a friend gave me permission to cut some magnolia leaves, and I really wanted to use them here.
Just down the hallway, these antique dog sconces got some simple red bows.
This guy doesn't look too thrilled, but secretly he loves it.
At the foot of the steps sits the nativity set and a stenciled mirror.
Come to the dining room. This is set for an intimate dinner with a stuffed pheasant in greens for the centerpiece.
This chest holds a couple of deer in a woodland setting.
The buffet gets a simple treatment of a woodland Santa and some greens.
In a corner, Mr. Pressed Pants' cane collection has just one simple bow.
The entryway holds my nutcracker collection and the Staffordshire dogs are surrounded with greens.
The kitchen gets just a few little flourishes.
One of which is this pedestal filled with a forest of trees and a Fitz and Floyd deer.
The keeping room is sparked up a bit with these hooked Santa pillows.
Even a beautiful carved mirror looks better with a bit of greenery.
And so does this trophy.
My mother cross stitched this for me years ago and I'll treasure it forever.
The hallway powder room is a tiny room but has lots of opportunity for decoration.
My Daddy made these tin angel sconces. More precious treasures!
Trees, hand towels, vintage children's books, and glitter villages all are put on the corner shelves.
And some hand towels.
The other powder room had it's share of fluffing, too.
My favorite little black forest bird wears a spiffly little bowtie.
Last stop is the bar. These wonderful cut out Santas were cut by my Daddy and painted by my mom. They were a handy pair!
Here's the look of the French shelves.
And the counter behind the bar gets ready for a little get together.

The antler dishes are great (yikes to storage, though!), and the glassware, chargers (love them all, esp. the bird's eye maple!), flatware, and textiles...the seemingly endless combinations are a tablescaper's dream come true. And those little name card adhesives are just great. Really nice inspiration here, thanks for sharing and demonstrating all the possibilities.
