Daisies On the Terrace

Ah, a lazy summer Saturday morning!  We took advantage of this for a long, unhurried breakfast together.

Last week when I pulled out my sunflower placemats to use for a dinner party, I spied these daisy placemats from Homegoods.  I got them last year, but I think they still have them.  They are even available as a runner, if I recall.

I used a white hotel linen topper from a restaurant supply house with a yellow ribbed runner from Pottery Barn.

The flowers were just a bunch of Kroger daisies plunked arranged in an apple green pottery urn.

Just for a little zip, I chose this flatware from Target and used it with yellow LuRay china stacked with our everyday white no-name dishes.  To see the other colors of LuRay, check out this post here.

These sunshine yellow napkins with rickrack edges came from Pier One and I embellished them with these sweet little daisy buttons.

This fabulous booth full of buttons was at Scott's Antique Market a few months ago.  I'm sorry that I've lost her contact info.  If you know who this is, email me and I'll edit this post.  Doesn't it look like a candy shop?  Well, that's just what I was like....a kid in a candy shop.  I bought so many buttons and findings.

These acrylic glasses are from Bobby Flay's line at Kohl's.

 Makes a fun, cheerful placesetting.

These metal daisy votives can be used for jam!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

We considered golf, but decided it was too hot.  We went to Verizon for new phones instead.

This photo is not contrived.  I swear these petals fell this way au naturel.  It reminds me of "He loves me, he loves me not".

Well......he loves me!!!!!!  We'll be celebrating 42 years of marriage tomorrow.

I'll post on Susan's Tabletop Thursday at Between Naps On the Porch

  11. Forty-two years??!?!?!! How could you be celebrating 42 years of marriage if you're just 40 years old? ;-) Congratulations to you both, and here's wishing you 42 more years of cozy breakfasts together! I tell you, Linda...you are my sister from another mother. I have started sewing little buttons and bling onto napkins, too. Since my mojo was still kind of waiting in the wings (until yesterday when I suddenly got whacked by the Inspiration Fairy), I've just kind of piddled around doing things that I souldn't normally be able to sit still long enough to do. I LOVE the tiny daisies on that yellow napkin! I'm thinking Doris Day!!! As for those fabulous placemats...they look absolutely 3-D!!! How cool!!! I can't wait to go shopping again!!! Hope all is looking up for you in this world. Take care, and have a wonderful weekend!!!

  15. Happy Anniversary! We're headed toward 43 years in December. Yo've used wonderful graphic elements to create a darling, crisp summer tablescape. I buy antique/vintage buttons for my daughter all the time. She makes wonderful flowers to wear in the hair...the buttons are the center of the flower. Thank you for sharing your lovely design. 23. You know how many of us mad tablescapers make tables up just for show sometimes? Well, isn't just lovely to actually get to sit down and eat at a table like this with the one that you love.

The daisies are divine, I absolutely love them. They always seem to be smiling to me, and when ever I look at them they make me smile too.

I wish with all my heart that we had some of the great shops that you have in the states.

Here in NZ people are very casual about eating. They very rarely do dinner parties so apart from my own, I have to content myself with all the gorgeous tablescapes in blogland. Thank you so much for this wondeful breakfast table I love it!

    Happy aniversary for 42 years.
